Dr. DeAngelis Endowment Fund

Dr DeAngelis.jpeg

In 2019, we lost an HSDM icon, Dr. Vincent DeAngelis, who symbolized what orthodontics means to many in our community. Dr. D. was our mentor and role model. He was a brilliant educator with a passion for the art and science of orthodontics and for teaching our residents, which he did for more than 50 years. Dr. D. always held his students to a very high standard and taught us clinical methods that produced not only aesthetically pleasing results, but also healthy results steeped in biology. Orthodontics aside, he was a man of great mental fortitude, honesty and integrity, and he will be sorely missed.

 GOAL

Our goal is to raise more than $250,000 for this endowment fund in order to continue the legacy of Dr. DeAngelis's teaching excellence by helping to finance clinically related research and events conducted by our residents.

And demonstrates our gratitude to a man who has positively influenced our lives and our profession in immeasurable ways. The scientific advancements that stem from this gift will be forever attached to Dr. DeAngelis’s name.

 HOW IT WORKS

HSDM will establish the Dr. DeAngelis endowment fund in a manner similar to the Lebret fund, whereby the university will invest the funds. The terms will be written so that the interest income will be distributed to expand the school’s resources for its orthodontic residents.

To make gifts tax deductible and compliant with university policy as a Shared Interest Group (SIG), the development office must receive gifts to this fund in order to establish it.

Our suggestion is to make a tax deductible gift of $5000 -$25,000, but any amount will be appreciated.
